About Organizational Effectiveness Team

The Organizational Effectiveness (OE) Team at Pratham Education Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the capacity and skills of our teams and individuals. The OE team focuses on creating and executing strategies that improve organizational design, and the skills & competencies of teams. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, the OE team supports Pratham’s mission to achieve its goals and objectives effectively.

Position Summary

The Manager, Capacity Building at Pratham will play a pivotal role in enhancing the skills and capabilities of employees across the organization, including the leadership team. The incumbent will play a crucial role in enhancing organizational processes related to feedback, performance management, and people management. The manager will be responsible for identifying capacity-building needs across the verticals and programmes of Pratham, designing training approaches, developing comprehensive training plans, and creating training materials. They will work closely with various teams and leadership teams to assess staff readiness, plan and implement appropriate training programs, and liaise with external experts as necessary. They will also need to work on creating a culture of continuous learning, promote knowledge-sharing, and ensure that all training initiatives align with Pratham’s goals. 

Roles and Responsibilities

The primary roles and responsibilities of the incumbent will include:

Planning

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive capacity-building strategy that aligns with Pratham’s mission and organizational goals
  • Collaborate with teams and leaders to identify priority areas for capacity building and professional development across all levels of the organization
  • Design a roadmap for continuous learning and development, ensuring that it supports both immediate and long-term organizational objectives
  • Stay informed about the best practices in capacity building, training, and organizational development, and incorporate relevant insights into the strategy
  • Ensure that the capacity-building strategy is adaptable and responsive to the changing needs of the organization and external environment.

Capacity Building

  • Conduct comprehensive skills assessments across various teams to identify the needs
  • Develop and implement targeted training programs to address identified needs and enhance overall employee capabilities
  • Design and execute leadership development programs to nurture and enhance the capabilities of managers and emerging leaders within Pratham
  • Create and promote knowledge-sharing platforms within the organization, facilitating the exchange of best practices and lessons learned
  • Collaborate with external experts and trainers to bring in additional expertise and resources as needed for specialized training programs
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments to ensure continuous improvement
  • Encourage a culture of continuous learning and professional development throughout the organization

Organizational Processes

  • Support and implement organizational processes that provide a platform for implementing acquired skills and practices
  • Implement, and manage performance management processes
  • Work on supporting the implementation of organizational policies
  • Ensure policies are effectively communicated and accessible to all staff members
  • Monitor compliance with organizational policies and procedures

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage a set of team members working on capacity-building projects within the Organizational Effectiveness team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to team members
  • Set clear objectives and performance expectations for the team, conducting regular performance reviews and offering constructive feedback
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of capacity-building projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget

Required Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour

Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of training needs assessment methodologies and their application
  • Familiarity with various training and development frameworks, tools, and best practices
  • Knowledge of leadership development models and effective methods for nurturing leadership capabilities
  • Awareness of innovations and best practices in capacity building and organizational development

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills to conduct skills assessments and identify training needs
  • Effective strategic planning skills to align capacity-building efforts with organizational goals
  • Excellent communication skills to convey training plans, objectives, and outcomes clearly
  • Proficiency in developing and delivering training materials and sessions
  • Strong project management skills to oversee the implementation and evaluation of training programs

Required Qualifications

  • Preferably Master's or Graduation in relevant fields (Education, Policy, Social Sciences) with a minimum of 7 years experience in a relevant profile and at least 3+ years of managerial experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, with a strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity

Working Details and Remuneration

  • Remuneration will be commensurate to experience and the monthly CTC 
  • The incumbent will be based in New Delhi and will have to travel regularly across the country
